I'm looking into buying a CD burner and I noticed that there is Sony model which can use both CD-R-DA and RW-DA. I also noticed in a catalog where the blank CD-R-DA's are about a buck each more than regular CD-R's. Can anyone tell me what's the difference between a CD-R and a CD-R-DA, etc.?? If you record from a digital 4 track to a CD-R-DA or RW-DA can you then play that disc in a regular CD player (auto type, Discman, or regular home model??)

CD R DA's (DA an acronym for digital audio) are for recording music only. If you record lot's of music you're better off paying the extra money for the unit that burns the cheap CD-R's. Make sure you buy a "pro" unit that doesn't have SCMS. You'll have less compatability problems and it'll pay for itself in the long run.

What unit does cdr non da and scms defeat? I'm talking price / performance...
