So, I had no idea where to take these questions but this site provides a great wealth of information so I'll ask them here.

I'm finishing up a self-made CD and I'd like to make some cheapo album covers and disc labels. I'll probably spend around one-hundred or so. I know that isn't much for a budget but does anyone know where I can get some CD jackets/cases made? Also, I'd like to buy some blank CDs too, but not the same, old, boring ones you find everywhere. If that is my only option within the budget, anyone recommend a place creates labels or a label-maker?

Thanks in advance.

Get yourself one of those CD/DVD burners that will laser scribe artwork into the disc itself. Don't use stick-on labels, the glue will either eventually fail or work its way into the disc itself.

you might also want to look into getting an inkjet printer that will print directly on the cd itself. i use the epson stylus photo r200, and it does greatly improve the visual quality of the disc itself. it also comes with software to help design the cd image.

as far as the cd insert... i use photoshop cs3 to get the images the way i want them, then nero cover designer to design the insert. it gives it a higher quality look.

but bottom line... even if it means a little extra cash in the beginning, don't settle for a "cheep" look. you put your heart into what people will be hearing on the cd, so put your heart into what they will see as well. give them an overall package that they will remember.

I checked the price for the printer and it's definitely out of my budget. I think the kunaki service might be my best option.

Thank you, everyone.

Check out Acoustica. You can download it and use it free for 1 week.
