I'm sure I've seen this subject discussed here before so just direct me to it if you can.

I'm getting pops whenever I try to copy a CD I burned using Adaptec Easy CD. The original burned ok. What advantage is there to using Copier Deluxe since it seems to take about as long as burning from scratch? Assuming I solve the pop problems, is it necessary to test each copy or is the first test sufficient?

Thanks,
Rusty K

Hey Rusty:
Not sure what's causing the pops you hear.
But once you've resolved this problem, you do not need to test each time before you copy.
Make sure you are burning onto a CD-RW disc every time until you resolve this problem..You'll save alot of money on Cd's that will onoly be good as coffee coasters (:

I'll check the forums to see if I can find the answer to your popping problem.

Ok Rusty, follow me:
Click on "search" at the top right of your screen
Type in "popping noises on CD"

Dougie,

Thanks for your response. I'm kind of hung up till I get this figured out. I thought CD-RW was rewritable? Do you mean to use the same CD over again till I've got the problem solved? I've never used one so I'm in the dark.

Appreciate your help,
Rusty K

Dougie,
I followed to a thread relating to .bin extension and exact copying. Was that what you intended for me to look at?

Dougie,

I found the thread you were talking about but I'm not sure it relates. I'm using my CD-ROM as the source and using Adaptec Copier Deluxe. It reads/writes all the tracks and then burns them all at once so I not sure how this would apply to me. I'll look for the "slow" settings mentioned.

Rusty:
Yeah..A CD-RW disc is eraseable over & over forever.
Just wanted to make sure you were using one of those until your problem is resolved.

Dougie,

I found out I wasn't copying to my hard disc. That has helped a lot. Still not perfect but much better and acceptable for now. I'm going to look into EAC, Exact Audio Copy, a free software that does a better job at extracting audio than Adaptec reportedly. Thanks for your help.
