I am looking for a burner. Are there any that work well with PC and Mac? I would prefer to switch to mac down the road but am on a PC now. The burning would be of music and Art. Any help would be great.

I have 4 Yamahas and 1 TDK - (IMHO) the Yamahas kick arse. I used them mostly with the Nero s/w. I also have the Roxio/Adaptec s/w, but (IMHO) Nero is better...

I second Wil's sentiment. Burning software is very important, and Nero is really good. As for hardware, I have heard many good things about Plextor.

Gotta second the Yamaha vote 'cause I've bought those myself and they're great but Plextor gets great reviews around here.

My top three choices for a burner are plextor, plextor, and plextor. My old Yamaha burner did a pretty good job, but I don't think there's much comparison.

I'd recommend one of the recent Yamahas (20x or 24x) because of their 'Audiomaster' feature (there's a thread on it in the computer&soundcard forum).
