Many companies prefer to get demos on cassette tape.
What tape is best for that purpose?
Thanks.

Cassette 101:

Best is "Metal" type, then "High Bias", then "Normal Bias". Most cassette decks will select the bias setting automaticly depending on the tape you use. Not all cassette decks support metal tapes but all newer ones do.
Any name brand should be ok (Maxcell, TDK).
You may want to use noise reduction - choices are none, Dolby B, Dolby C, or Dolby S. Few decks support Dolby S so I wouldn't bother. To me Dolby B is worse than no noise reduction, so I would either use C or none.

For any more detail you should probably post in the "Analog" forum.

Thanks for 101, RWhite.

I pretty much understand the basics of how audio cassettes work. I even saw them couple times ...

My question was specifically about best cassettes for demo purposes. It appears that 30 min cassettes should be just fine in terms of length.
But what about brands and tape types? Is there any more or less common standard in this respect?

You are right, I should have put this question in Analogue forum in the first place, but its already here, so...
