...we ALL are in the business of $$$,it's the American way...

However,I really hate it when the "Bigs" try to put themselves of as "benevolent" while you're shoving $3k across the table for something that isn't worth 3 bucks. And,worse yet,you are buying into obsolescence EVERY TIME.
Your fancy rig is guaranteed to be "a thing of the past" just as soon as the ink is dry, because the next big thing is just around the corner.....

Yeah, tell that to all the Moog, Rhodes and Hammond owners.

Obsolescence.........

Pretty much sums up your "gear" list.

This comment was in no way to associate skyy's list of crap with actual recording equipment or instruments.

Sky why do you always say $3k? Are you aware there is a plethora of instruments that fill in the gaps between Casio and a flagship Triton or Motiv8? You can get a lot of Rolands and Yamahas that are in their 'Pro' category for under a grand. You can get 88 weighted key controllers for under $500 and for about the same price buy new and used sound modules.

Nobody is advocating that people should go out and buy the latest model because it will get you chicks. We just think you should use your ears and go for the best value. Value is not always what is cheap and new. There are many great deals on the used market.

And to think of the thousands of dollars I've wasted on "the bigs" boards...
Kurzweil k2500s, nord lead 3, korg ms2000...
That's over $5000 in worthless, out of date synths right there!
Ugggh.... The humanity!
To think... For the same amount that I've spent on cables to hook all these worthless machines up, I could have had a casio...
I'm going to go kill myself.

Wait! Maybe there's hope...
Would any of you be interested in buying my synths for say,,,, $300? That's how much the wk3500 is right skyy?

Anyone?

For that money you could have had a casio, a few hookers and a huge crack rock. You'd get the same lasting value from all three.

I would just sum it all up as crap. I think I could build a better keybord with a 2x4 and some dominoes.

Mmmmm Crack Rock...

Tex you know it's not nice to make an ex crackhead jones...

I tell you, you guys are off base, here. Casio builds a great watch, and It's never let me down. On the other hand, a piano is a thing with strings that requires microphones. Even with "Grand", and a top flight electronic keyboard, I have no use for a synth of any kind, especially the kind you buy at Walmart.
Oh, and BTW Sky, as you're not so good at the Queen's English (does Belgium have a queen, Roel?), I'll give you a free lesson.-
Thou art a Godrotting, two trunk inheriting knave, and eater of broken SPAM. Get thee hence, and let us no more, for we have seen others like thee, and we have no need of a lame horse.-Richie

Got to check out the DSP section a lot more closely today.
I'd figure there's about $5,000 worth of rack gear in this keyboard *alone*....really...

All the usual suspects,like reverbs,plates,chorus,delays,gates..

And combos of all of the above and then some....

And all those distortions?Fuzz tones? Wahs?

Way cool...

Just to clarify a little:

The distortion you heard was you turning on the keyboard. Not a good thing.

The fuzz tone was the Grand Piano patch.

Son, have you ever heard of "If it sounds too good to be true" or "You get what you pay for"?

No he is calling you son, beause you are acting like you have the brain capacity of a 12 year old. Grow up man.

A piece of gear that incorporates a lot of rack gear doesn't mean it gives you $5000 worth of quality rack gear sound. And where did you come up with that $5000 number?

Yo Sky:

I had an Alesis keyboard and sold it; it was a fairly nice sounding Stage Piano, but the darn LCD SCREEN WAS ugly. Small. Very hard to work with even with my specs on.

So, if you are going to buy one, check out the screen display before you drop your cash.

Hey, enjoy.
