Case fan air flow question

Yeah... Then there's water cooling. It's expensive, but it is totally silent.

On that amdmb.com message board I linked to above, there was a guy who stuck a 55 gallon drum of water in the dirt under his house for his water cooling system. All for a few extra mHz. :)

After burning my CPU, I realized a friend had over clocked it back when I didn't know what overclocking was:( I think I'll stay away from it, I don't need that many mhz. Plus it voids the warranty on AMD CPUs if anything goes wrong.

The easiest way to mount the third fan is buy one that fits right on a card. Takes up one slot space. Any good computer store will have them.

You can also get fans that will stick onto the sides of the case, but I prefer those that grip a bit more securely.

So you're saying I could actually stick a fan onto the back of my video card?

In that case, couldn't I just stick it on to the bottom of the power supply? From there, it would blow over the HSF perfectly.

Not on your video card, but next to it. They make cards that fit in a PCI slot with a fan on it.

That sounds good, my only problem is that my digi001 card is in the first slot right next to the video card in the AGP slot. I don't know if putting a fan under it would help much. Are there fans that can fit in any other slots?

You're overthinking this! I know you had a CPU burn up, but man, that's a very very rare event, and in your case it was definately due to a bad installation/setup.

One intake fan in the lower front, one exhaust in the upper rear (P/S will suffice usually). Don't sweat it too much. When you set the machine up, get motherboard monitor or something similar and just watch your temps for a while. 99% of the time they'll be just fine and you can get to work on more important things!

Thanks, I think I do need to stick to the basics for now.
