I own a Carvin bass and the quality is great. I am wondering about Carvins mixers and equipment. Is their mixers and stuff as good as their instruments?

Carvin is oriented toward the live sound end of the spectrum. Their gear may be too noisy to record through.

I've got a 6 channel powered mixer, and I like it.

Carvin has a BBS with friendly folk. There is a pro sound forum where you can get some opinions from those who use them.

I have to admit I borrowed a friend's Carvin mxing board for one session for shits and giggles. I ended up keeping it for almost a year because the pre's were so interesting.

It was an 80's board and yeah, some of the knobs and faders were a bit scratchy, but overall it was pretty sturdy and sounded cool.

I used to do live sound for my buddies band who had an extensively large carvin rig (24/4 channels, 1000's of watts, crossovers, compressors, PA speakers, subs, and full stack bass rig, and Bunny Brunnel 4 string......SERIOUS Carvin Fanatics!!!!). Sounded great.!!! They tried recording with it, and opted to record through a Mackie 32/8. By comparison I feel the Carvin mixers are right on track with the Mackie SR's. Good for live, could pass for studio if in a pinch, but just not recommended.
