Cardigans Style Bass

I am looking at recreating that really low fuzzy sound as heard in a lot of the Cardigans songs.

I looked at overdrive pedals but they all seemed to harsh for what I wanted. Should I be looking at some processing following the overdrive to maybe compress it into that lo-fi fuzz sound.

I am looking at the Boss Bass-Synth pedal... I seem to think I can recreate the sound with that...

Thoughts, advise and suggestions?

I don't know exactly what their bass sounded like, but you might want to try a Fuz Face pedal. I forget who makes it, but just about every guitar store should have one.

Is that a Boss pedal? I'll have a look around on the Internet for it.
