Car stereo system that us audio nuts would be happy with?

I'm in the market for a new stereo system for my car, a 98 Honda Accord EX. I'd like a new head unit that you can plug an IPOD into directly and possibly new speakers (and sub). What do you audio nuts recommend? What kind of money are we talking for something I'd be satisfied with?

I havent been in the market for a head unit in a while but if you want quality (and not breaking the bank ) I would go with dynaudio components and a MTX sub. You will probably be talking $1500 off ebay for a sub,amp(s), and components depending on how involved you want to get.
