I'm sure this has been answered a bazillion times, but why is there a very low hum when I use my condensor? It's driving me nuts. I want absolute silence. Sometimes when I touch the mic, depending on the day, it buzzes louder or quiter. I don't get it. All my equipment is new, so I don't think it's loose wiring, etc. Is it possible that mic cables crossing across my studio (closet) are causing it? Is it from the wire shelving in my closet (studio)?

Is it aliens? They've tried to abduct me before, so it wouldn't surprise me if they are messing with me sound. ;)

It's probably the grill screen assembly is not making a good ground to the body of the mic. Try removing the grille screws and sand down the inside ionized surface where the screws make contact.

Or it could always be a crappy mixer with a 60 Hz leak into the phantom supply. :D

You have moisture in you condensor mic, research on how to cook it (seriously) and you can solve your problem.
