can't remember... so help needed. Tracks from nuendo to protools

Ok.. I have been searching for hours. I have found 1 topic that mentioned the method I used before, but there were no details... What am I missing:


1- select all
2- Locate L
3- Range tool
4- Bounce

Am I missing something? Should that not make al the files the same length and stamped? Maybe I answered the question wrong about replacing events?

I think you have that correct but I do it a bit differently.

I have Nuendo 2.2.b39 and I believe it's pretty much the same as other versions.

I do the following (if some of my tracks are not set to the same point from beginning to end):

1. Select Range Tool
2. Drag Range Tool so all tracks are high-lighted from beginning to end point I want.
3. Bounce Selection.
4. Then it asks if I want to 'Replace Events" and I click 'replace'.

Then it does its thing.

I do select enough blank space at both leader and tail so all events start and end at the same point.

There might be something you need to do with the 'pool' so it knows not to keep/use original staggered files or you can simply export whatever new 'bounced' files from the pool.

If anything else you can ask on the Nuendo forum (www.nuendo.com)... that's if your copy of Nuendo is legit, of course Otherwise you cannot post there, you have to use a registered dongle key number.

Does nuendo produce bwf wav files? If so, you should be able to use them directly and just spot them in PT.

Well, I know my second engineer from a year ago (no longer here, now he's a mastering engineer elsewhere) is ProTools certified and when he came over not too long ago to have coffee and check out Nuendo (cuz he still freelances here sometimes and he wanted to check compatibility) he did get excited about OMF Export in Nuendo. I'd have to dig out my manuals but I'm pretty sure it stated something about Nuendo being cross-platform friendly (especially in regards to Nuendo to ProTools).

Yet again, I'm still learning the digital ropes and I haven't run across something where I've gone from Nuendo to Protools. The most I've done (and it was one time) is I exported some tracks for a guy that wanted to dump in to Garageband... so I basically did what I stated previously.

I frown on piracy so I don't know if I want to look any deeper in the docs I have just to make life easier for those with possible crack'd software.

All the information needed is in the hardcopy manual as well as the help docs.
