Can't record

i used to be able to record and then one day it stopped. i have reloaded win98 2nd ed, installed a new sound card. in control panel/multimedia properties, the plaback icon is selectable but the "record" icon is grayed out. anybody got a suggestion

thats a strange one but off hand, Id say re-install the card and drivers.....try a different pci slot also.....

also check in Control Manager/system/sound system to see if you have any conflicts....

are you using pro tools free?

because i have experienced that with pro tools free
