Can't hear reverb on BR1600CD

This may seem like a dumb question but how can I monitor (i.e. hear) the reverb levels on my new BR1600? I actually read the manual but regardless of what controls I change I get absolutely no change in effect when trying to add reverb to a mic input (or any other input for that matter). The COSM fx do work for guiitar but with my SM58 there is nothing when connected to Mic input 2 (XLR into a TRS 1/4" converter since I have a phantom powered mic on line 3).

On the reverb - does the reverb get recorded? You may have set the settings for recording dry.

When you use your mic input, you probably switch the f/x settings to mic. You should be be able to scroll into the f/x selection screen to select the guitar f/x (I can with the BR600)

Is it possible you need to run the reverb (f/x loop) to another input channel?

I use Ch 2 for mic-in since that's a "default" setting when only using 1 or 2 inputs, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have checked every setting to see if something is "off", I even reinitialized the entire system in case someone had disabled it somehow, but no joy. The precanned vocal "templates" work fine, but all I want is a bit of reverb on a voice channel. If the unit had a defect I think there would be more obvious issues. I too have a BR600 and prefer it at this stage!
 
don't use an adapter, phantom power will not hurt your sm58! and reverb on your br1600 can only be used after the fact. meaning you have too record first then add reverb after.

I do it all the time...press reverb button then press arrow nxt to screen until it reads "channel input" not "track"..call me at 714.588.1215 if u wanna walk thru it..jonsn

Thanks Jonsn I'll give that a shot, I've been staring at the display wondering if that was the prob...will try it tomorrow.

The previous poster suggested it can only be added after recording, I'll try that too but seems like a strange way to design a system, but maybe I'm more used to live setups.

Jonsn's right, no problem recording wet with reverb on the track, I do it all the time on mine. Do what he says regarding hitting the reverb button then the <- button and it'll open up the eight channels for adding reverb when recording. Also works the same with panning and delay when you want to set that at input time too. It's all in the manual if you look it up.
