Can you record with a measurement omni mic?

After using one in a venue the other day, it occured to me that I'd never tried recording with one - so I had a go, using a Shure SM63 as a comparison.
The same event also made me dig out an Elvis mic - the Shure 55SH.

Sure you can. I've been meaning to try out my cheap Behringer measurement mic.

See if yours is like mine? Noisy!
I expected the Shure to be noisy because I had to turn the gain up compared to the behringer, but it was the behringer that had noise - and oddly quite bass heavy which surprised me. I use it connected to an X32, or the M32 and it has always worked - so I'm left a bit confused as to why it's noisy and maybe the noise is also flat, so it doesn't impact the measurement? Don't know?

The one I have is my second. I had to return the first one because it died in the first couple of days.
