I'm going to be rebuilding my home studio as soon as I get a check from my insurance company, this is what I plan on getting:

1)Aardvark Direct Pro Q10(soundcard)
2)Korg Triton Le
3)M-Audio SP-5B Studiophile monitors
4)Akai MPC 2000xl(not sure yet......possible)
5)Cool Edit Pro 2.0

here's the question......if I wanted to produce the beats at my home studio ,but for example, sold the beat to someone and they wanted to record vocals, mix etc. in a pro studio.......what else would I need so that they can take it to a studio.........an ADAT?That's what I'm thinking but I'm not sure ...I never had to use one before .............can someone help???

I'd think a CD burner would be your cheapest route. I've seen them easily waaaaay under $200.

ADAT's are out of date but if you want it to give masters to someone who still thnks ADATs are cool go for it. . .I just wouldn't make it a priority.

ADATs are still out there and in use (I still have a pair) but CD-R is what I use to archive and to ship around.

thanks fellas .........
but can you tweak individual tracks with a cd-r at a pro studio and add vocals.....that's why I was thinking adat but maybe you know of something better?

We're not talking about audio CDs here, but putting your raw .wav or AIFF or whatever files you're working with on a CD-R that any studio (at least any studio worth a shit) can open and load into whatever they use.

OOOOHHHH,I get it now...it's been forever since I've been inside a "pro" studio ,I do everything at home...........thanks for the scoop.....I guess that's why you're "gear slut":D
