Can you catch the stray frequencies in my mix?

I recorded this yesterday, and though I think it sounds pretty good, I don't have the monitors or the ear to tell if anything's coming out that shouldn't be. I'd love if you guys could tell me what doesn't sound right to your ears. Mastering is pretty new to me still.

Thanks, and take care!

Please! If you were to mix abd master this, what would you do?

There is definitely a peak around 84Hz. Bass is ringing there. A 6dB cut there helped to clean it up on my monitors. Vocals a bit up front for my taste on the verses. The reverb wash at the end seems too much. Again, just my opinion.

Like the tune though, and the performances are quite good. :)

Okay, so I made some tweaks tonight based on your advice. I tweaked the EQ for the kick, bass, toms, and I boosted the highs a bit for the whole track. Whaddya think?

Much better, though I can't crank the big monitors till the baby wakes up...

First, nice tune. I really like the lyric content and the performances are very good.

It might be my speakers, but the cymbals sound doesn't cut the mix, at 00:10 when every thing comes in, it sounds like there's a shhhhhh in the back ground. Also around 00:46, the ride ping is sitting back in the mix a bit. I don't have the optimum listening environment, but I can usually hear all the instruments.

This actually might help me understand what I'm hearing. Does any one else hear the same issues I'm hearing on my set up?

I like the guitar tone.

Care to share what your playing? Mics used?

Thanks for the feedback! Sure!

My drumset and cymbals all came from trades so I know little about them. I miked it with a CAD Pro 7-piece mic kit. I put the overheads about a foot away from the front of the kit in an XY position at about head height.

Guitar is a Melody Maker through a Marshall half stack just using the amp overdrive, miked up close and across the room.

Bass was an Ibanez soundgear five string through an Ampeg BA115, miked with the large diaphragm condenser that came with the mic kit.

And the vocals were done with sone Behringer my bro got for around 50 bucks I think.
