Can the cursor line up with the waveform?

Another noob Cubase question here:

When playing back audio, is there a setting somewhere that will enable the cursor to accurately track the waveforms? It drags its arse around 1/2 a second behind, then suddenly shoots forward, then drags again...

Makes it very hard to see where the edit points should be
 
sounds more like a video card issue than a Cubase prob. You can use the scrub tool (Jog and Shuttle wheel) to get more accurate.
 
Yeah it sounds like the refresh rate on your card, cause mine runs dead nuts with the waveform.
