Could you take the screen off and look at the front of the Diaphram for me. Does it apear to be completely smooth and flat? I had an ADK and I had it replaced because the diaphram had what apeared to be a large ripple at about 3 O clock on the face. However the new one that came in today has the same thing. I havent sound tested it yet, but looked at the diaphram. I have the old one here, I have to send it back. But I might A/B them before I do.

Let me know what you come up with and I'll see if I can get a few pics of these this weekend.

Thanks!
Josh

Well here are some pics of the two mics.

The one on the RIGHT is the one I had, the one on the LEFT is Brand New..

I notice a bit of a differant layout on the boards. Any ideas what this is all about? Is it pretty common in mass production?

Now here is what concerns me.. Notice the ripples across the diaphrams. Whats the deal here? The newer one looks worse than the older one. I think the ripples are actually in what looks to be a plastic film over the diaphram. Any thoughts on this?

I'm going to A/B them next.

mine looks just like the one with the ripple. same board, same ripple

Looks pretty severe for a $300 mic. How do the mics sound?

Nope. Flat as a pancake.Smooth as silk. Whatever you want to call it. This pict is kinda shitty, but no wrinkle in the diaphram. The serial # is in the 017000 somethings. Manufacturing standards in China arent really that high though.
