Hi,

Glad to be a new member.

My computer is a HP running with Win XP on Athlon 1.3, my sequencer is HomeStudio 2002, my audio card is Audiophile 2496.

Despite all the settings done, the recording of audio tracks is an issue. Nothing appends when I try to record my midi tracks into an audio track. The wav is flat with no sounds.

Somewhere in an other thread ;

http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=67047&highlight=cannot+record+2496

somebody talked about disabling the ATI WDM driver in device manager. Is that work with XP ?

If so how can I find this in the device manager, because I could not find the driver there ?

Thank you in advance,

SergeD

The reason (I think) you can't record the midi-sound is that the Audiophile dosen't have an onboard synth. Just use the VSC as a DXi and you'll be allright (if you don't know how to use DXis, consult the help-files).

Or did I misunderstand the problem completely? ;)

Thanks Moskus for the reply

I have a QY-70 sequencer connected to the sound card.

Even with midi recording the I' ve been in big troubles to record. The Midi-Yoke loopback saved my life.

I will see about Dxi but I am not very confident about this. Hope this works... very tired of this...

Regards,

SergeD

You were right Moskus. It's ok now with Vsc

Thanks,

I have the exact same problem as SergeD and almost the same PC setup only I have an Audigy soundcard. Can you help me?

...Well, with SB cards, you actualy have the MIDI synth onboard. Firts, go to the kernell mixer (Double click the Spkr icon on the taskbar), open the Volume "mixer". Go Options, Recording. Select the source to MIDI / Synth. It should be working then...
