Yes.......

Depends. Some need to be installed, some can just be copied across. Stuff like T-racks will need to be installed. They won't just let you copy the files across.

However, I should point out that if you don't own the license or the original software, what you are trying to do technically qualifies as piracy.

If he acquired the computer that Logic was installed on, most licenses would allow that transfer (and those that don't kinda suck).

Transferring the AU to another computer isn't strictly legal, but if OP owns a legit license and the other computer is also for his use I don't see much harm.

yeah I think if both are his macs and he's the only one who uses 'em, he should be alright.

Even if the previous owner of the computer still has the original software and continues to use it?

FWIW I'm not accusing anyone of anything. It was just a thought.

Should have transferred the CDs/licenses/whatever with the computer. Then the original owner is the pirate, not the OP.

IK Multimedia allows for five licensed installs of the same serial number. I have a Mac Pro, Macbook, and Mac Mini and I am able to install all of their software on all three without any licensing issues.

Logic, will allow you to install with the same serial numbers on multiple machines but they can not run at the same time if they are on the same network.

Other companies are more strict, like Waves Audio, etc...

IMO, IK Multimedia is very liberal with their licenses and understands that the software purchaser may want to upgrade their machine, or that it may have been purchased by a band or group of individuals all using it for a common purpose on additional machines. If you go to the User Area on their site they have an application for transferring licenses that is really simple to use.
