CAN I SING? Honesty is the best policy!

The song (Uncle Kracker) that you chose to highlight your voice was the wrong choice for your type of voice. I'm not familiar with that particular song but your phrasing suggested that it is a type of rock ballad. As such, it would need somebody like Ann Wilson from Heart to belt it out. Your voice, while very listenable, is more suited to the Lily Allen 'little girl' type of pop songs.

It sounds as if you are singing from the back of your mouth. It's very difficult to get any power in your voice when you do this. The previous posters have suggested that you sing louder. You certainly need to do this. Your voice is too 'small.' If you continue to sing from your mouth when you do this, however, you risk damaging your vocal chords. Try to get it down into your chest.

Keep it up though. You have a pleasant voice and, well... practice makes perfect!

Good luck! :thumbs up:

hey savvy how about singing along with music rather than just recording your voice on its own? your singing doesn't sound great in that clip but you're being a bit hard on yourself asking people to judge you from that. know what i mean?

u r okay, i agree with everyone else - u just need coaching or practice

I agree with most of what everyone has told you. I thought you stayed in key most of the time and your articulation was not bad, I could understand almost all of the lyrics. The one real criticism that I had was that you voice sounded a bit harsh to me, but now I suspect that is because you recorded through a laptop mic. I hope to hear you again singing through a decent LDC microphone sometime soon.

I have to say that you and all the other people who post songs on here are in my opinion quite brave. I have played guitar and sang for over 45 years and there is no way I would ever post anything.
