I am going to be working on a project with a drummer in another state, and we are trying to find a way to get his drums into my Roland VS-2480. He normally uses Pro Tools, which I know nothing about, but we're open to options. The music has lots of tempo and meter changes and is pretty lenghty, so we're thinking of mailing CD-Rs back and forth for collaboration.
What I am wondering is if there is a way to get his tracks, about 16 in all, (one track for each drum) into the VS-2480 and have them lock up so they play in time. I am still pretty new to this.
Thanks

You could have him burn them as .wav files I think and import them into the 2480 via the cdr drive. You could try posting this question at the VSPlanet.com www.vsplanet.com in the 2480 Forum..

If 16 bits is OK, you can just import from CD. Put the tracks, 2 at a time, on CD's, and use the CD capture function, with the two tracks panned hard left and hard right. It's easier to synch the tracks in Pro Tools, though.-Richie
