Stick with the blues though, sounds more serious, the country stuff sounds like your makin fun of it. But still its ok, and your right. Sounds like you were havin more fun than I do! HaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAh!!!Keep it up! Of course I had to monitor in my headphones while my wife watches a movie in my studio, so I couldn't really crank it up, but your solo guitar tone is great. Got that greasy sound I like in blues guitar. Not over distorted, just sort of ripping the speaker cone sound. Ha!

Shit, I should have known, thats my FAVORITE amp. I used one for about a month when I was a "Weekend Warrior" at a local music store. Loved it. I use a strat though.
But for some stuff I LOVE a tele. Only certain ones though. I had one that was real tinny and had no balls. Then I got another one that knocked my socks off. Waaaaaay cool. Sold it though. I'm pretty much a strat player now. And BTW sheppard, I hope you don't think I was laughin at you or your music. I was laughin with ya man. I know cause my best friends and I get togeather and do some of the gooofiest stuff you ever heard, and I mean goofy. But we howl and laugh togeather, and man, thats what home recording is really about. We been doin this stuff for 30 yrs and when we get togeather, we make it a point of listening to at least one goofy tape from the past. We still roll on the floor till we almost puke. But you know what. In those goofy tapes, are moments of pure joy, comeradere, and some very serious concentration that comes across as pure interplay between us. I can almost pre hear what one of them are going to do, when were improvising. That what I really enjoy. And man, there isn't anything compares to recording, for sharing your life with a friend, and his with you. I and my friends are in our late 50's now. We have been doing this at least twice a month, since 1962. Most of the tapes haven't survived. A lot have. They are priceless to me. They are a document of friendship and sharing. And a source of constant humor too!! They are one of my most treasured things. And I have very few.

Hey sheppard, listen man, I poked fun at country for years, untill I met a steel player.
He introduced me to some of the HOTTEST players I've ever heard. And honest too. Man, these mothas can PLAY. Anything, not just country. And tempos that would raise the hair on the back of your neck. Thats what makes em great players. Country may not be your bag man, but untill you hear some of these guys, hold your judgements. I have brought young players who thought their shit didn't stink, with me to see some of these guys at local country afterhour jams, and they couldn't fucking believe it. I asked them to sit in, and all they wanted to do was slink out the back door. Smokin motherf.....s, geeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzus. Scared me to death. Changed my way of lookin at guitar playing from thinking licks, to being a musician too. But, that was quite a long time ago and I'm much more reserved now. Ha, half dead would be more like it. Still enjoy the blues though. Ole John Lee Hooker is my favorite. I'd traded my soul to the devil for that voice. Or even to play as funky as him. Sometimes, its not what you play, its how you play it, right? Ha! Well have a great week, we'll talk some more another time.

If anyone had told me I'd be listening to country ten years ago I would have told them they were nuts. I hated country music back then. I like it now. I guess it's an aquired listening experience.

There are many excellent musicians in the country scene. No, they don't do Eddie Van Halen guitar leads, but I've heard some really hot players myself.

Hell, I even write it and play it and record it now.

analogelectric, that's not bad. It sounds like maybe too much compression on the snare though or possibly it's set too fast and not enough of the initial transient is getting through. The guitar sounds great.

there are some country pickers out there that are completely awesome!
junior brown is my favorite player of all time.theguy ranks right up there with jeff beck and hendrix.if you have not heard this cat play then go out right now and buy one of his cds.he plays a double neck with a lap steel on top and a regular electric on bottom and he plays the shit outta both!
when isaid i was poking fun i just meant that the whole idea of a player like me doing something that blatantly country is kind of hilarious.i have respect for good music,no matter the genre.
anyway, thanks for giving my stuff a listen.
