Hi!

I got 2 Hifi-amplifiers and 4 speakers and wounder if its possible to connect the like this:

Alternative 1
mp3player -- [3.5mmJack OUT -> RCA-IN] --> amplifier1 --> speakerpair1
amplifier1 -- [RCA-UT -> RCA-IN] --> amplifier2 --> speakerpair1
Alternative 2
sold my own cable and connect:
3.5mmJack --> rca1, rca2, rca3, rca4 (rca1,2 to speakerpair1 and rca3,4 to speakerpair2
The problem with alternative 1 is that it would be both amplifiers on the same speaker (speaker2) cause i cant adjust the volume out seperately.

cause of this Im thinking of alternative 2
the solding should be like this no?
3.5mmJack -> 4x RCA:
3.5mmJack tip+ -> rca1 centerpin+ och rca2 centerpin+
3.5mmJack ring- -> rca1, 2, 3, 4 outer ring-

that must be correct?
thanks!!

first. saw I wrote wrong:

correct should be:

3.5mmJack ring- -> rca3 centerpin+ och rca4 centerpin+
3.5mmJack sleeve (ground) -> rca1, 2, 3, 4 outer ring-

that must be correct?

what I meant was that.
say Ive got amplifier1 at maximum volume. since I cant adjust the output seperately the output from amp1 would be very loud.
the input on amp2 will be that loud signal. so if I turn that loud signal up that I got from amp1 into amp2 the result would be very very loud in speakers2.

thats what I meant. what wouldnt be to good no?

It depends on whether or not you have a line level signal (i.e. rca line out signal is not impacted by volume setting on main out to speaker) coming out of the rca's on amp 1.

I would think most rca outputs would be line level, and you should be fine with example 1, and you should be able to control the speaker volume with each amp. I would try it out first before making splitter cables.
