Hello All,

I have the opportunity to pick up a Soundcraft Folio 12/2 mixer reasonably cheap but am a little concerned that I wont be able to connect it to my audiofile 24/96. Reason I say this is that the mixer has no RCA outputs - everything is 1/4 jack and balanced.

The Folio manual (found here: http://www.soundcraft.com/downloads/user_guides.aspx?pid=81#downloads) says it is possible to use unbalanced connections but seems to suggest you have to make your own cables.

Can anyone let me know if it is possible to simply connect the Spirit Folio to an audiofile 24/96 and if so, how??!

Thanks in advance.

anything can be connected to anything. It's just that sometimes they blow up!

Seriously, not a problem for you. You can buy 1/4" to rca cables. You won't be able to use balanced cables, but if the distance is short, it should be fine. Balanced cables are used to elimate line noise in long runs.

So, you just need 1/4" mono or some call it TS (tip sheild) on one end. These are plugged into the main outs left and right or monitor out L & R of the mixer. The other end of each cable is rca into your 2496 and Bob's your uncle! Here's a link but you can get these anywhere.

PS: That is the strangest manual I've ever seen!
