Ok here goes i hope someone can help...
i recently purchased everything for a home studio, ive been using alesis which came with cubase, but i prefer cool edit because i know how to use it better. When i record in cool edit my vocals do not match with the instrumentals or even the metronome in cool edit. I tried buying a gig of ram for my computer thinking that was the problem but after i installed it there still is an issue, and my voice seems a little higher pitched when i record it. Does anybody know how i can get my vocals on beat like when i hear it in the headphones?

Also, do i have to record mono with my alesis? how do i record studio and hear it through both headphones? when i put it to studio it is in one headphone and records only at the top

sounds like you have a sample rate mismatch somewhere in your software or on your interface. make sure all your tracks are at the same sample rate, i.e. 44.1K, 48K and you are recording with that sample rate.

I'm also betting that's the problem. The drivers on your new interface are defaulting at one sample rate (probably 44.1), but you have Cool Edit Pro at another.
