i´ve seen these wireless lapel mics that are based on this system: a mic with a 1/8' plug, a transmitter with a 1/8' input jack, a reciever with a 1/4' output jack; so i was wondering, considering i threw away the mic (did i mention it all came for $30 on ebay?) and plugged my guitar to the transmitter and the reciever to my amp... would this work out? it seems to me it SHOULD work considering the scheme but ive never heard anybody mention this so i believe there must be a catch, so anyone with experience here let me know.

It depends on the system. If all the stuff is sitting in front of you just try it and see what happens.

Actually i don´t have it, but i would like to practice or even gig with a wireless system for my guitar, so if anyone has tried it or has an idea about it working, ill try out.

 Not sure about the rackmount receiver, but a lot of the beltclip transmitters do have a facility to input an instrument instead of the mic, ther's usually a switch to set, and an adaptor that you can buy to screw in the mic input.........
The owners manual will show this if it's available on the particular unit......

It depends on the unit... the receiver part will work... but, if you plug your guitar into a "mic input" on the transmitter instead of a "line input" it will sound like crap.
