Calling out to you

Here's a new one. Simple song but pretty cool lyrics. Tracking is done but mix comments are welcome.

I have a mix comment of my own Vocal in the chorus needs to come up. There, that wasn't so hard.

What type of room are recording your drums in Hang?
Also what mics are you using?

This isn't really my style but for what its worth it sounds pretty good. It sounds like the "calling out to you" vocals could come up a little bit. They sound quite a bit quieter than the main verses.
I think the song itself could use another part or two to break things up. The drums help break up some of the repetitiveness but it gets a little on the boring side torwards the end. I would say shorten the song but looking at the time I see its only 4 mins. Definitely could use a bridge or something.
The chord progression reminds me of that song "Zombie" by the Crannberries. The song itself doesn't really sound anything like it but for whatever reason that popped into my head. haha

The room used to be my garage. The tracking room is 16' x 14' x 8' with bare plywood floors. The ceiling is completely covered in 3" thick rigid fiberglass. One wall has a 4" thick panel of 703 10' x 4' that goes from 0" at the bottom to about 14" at the top. Tried to vary the absorbtion ya know. One wall has several 4' x 2' x 4" panels spread out. One wall has nothing on it. The other will have a large helmholtz resonator across it's length (needs built yet). All the vertical corners are cut off by 4" thick 703 floor to ceiling as well. I'm trying hard to make this a decent room to record drums in. Everything else should come fairly easy.

The mics were a sm57 on snare, (now using m201) sm57 on high toms, md421 on floor and kick. Overheads were shitty audix f15. And a baby bottle for the room mic.

Not my style either but it's still fun to record. The voc in the chorus has already been brought up (nice catch). It does get boring but I think they were going for some kind of message with the lyrics.

I like it! I think the bass is a little heavy throughout but that's just a preference thing I think. I love the vocals! Fun lyrics! The chord structure is reminiscent of Zombie from the Cranberries.

The m201 rules the sm57 on snare IMO. It also whomps ass on guitar cab too. I found it for $170 and couldn't pass it up.
