after listening to the track again.. i like it more. i think that if and when some vocals are added this will be a very nice laid back track--- but thats just my opinion... thanks for the feedback FIEV-- EDIT: also Fieva.. i purposely gave the track a muddy and muffled sound to make it feel more "cold"

I figured you did it for that grimy feel...don't make it too lively just a small push...but you might wanna throw somethin in there to differentiate the track a little bit more though....like some low gritty choir mixed with an organ...i can hear that in there.

i can mos. def. dig the choir idea.. the track is almost there-- like you said; a few more percussion sounds, some fx and backing sounds... i'll take a break from it now and start fresh tomorrow...

It would be good if we could get more beat makers up in here...I want different approaches and stuff, you know?

I like that "8" beat, that's the direction I want the beat to go in (although the kicks are a lil too loud I think)

I don't mix em till they are chosen to be used for a project, so if you want that beat let me know and i will mix it and get it to you asap

Yo D.E. man that track 8 was SICK...cats should go ILL on that shit!!!

Got me vibin to this shit...I'll throw up a verse on it just so ya'll can feel it like I feel it

Back in the day - a rap battle was just two grown men
Who brought they best to the mic - they rhymed then slap hands
But damn - I miss tha days when a rap still meant somethin
See these new kids today - they rap - but spit nothin'
While discussin' how much you been holdin' - I snatch that
A 211 - you know what that is - I'll catch that
Hip-hop was sick shit - real emcees spit sickness
Yo - most of these wannabe - one hits - will not get this
It's a business - homie - that means the art is gone
An' thats why I'm keep my radio more off than on
Cause now the legends gone - that product is not pure
Hip-hop done flatlined when we lost Wallace and Shakur
Speakin' of Big - we lost Big Pun an' Big L too
Kinda like Ja Rule - look at the shit without you!
So cruel - but all I really wanna do though
Is be +Cruisin' down tha street in my '64+

Let's go!

Thanx Fiev glad you liked it, i just hit the link and played the beat and tried to do ur ryhme there but uh um i'll just stick to makin beats lol.

I tried to rap over it...I was able to do it, but there's no clear cut separation between the hook and the verse.

That means that you might have to have emcees following right after each other with no hook maybe

Or you might wanna put that horn section as a hook and let it run about 8 bars or so and just loop the verse section to fit a nice 16

actually that beat is just a concept that i had in my mind that i made and looped it out so i could post it lol, thas why it just stays the same and there is no mix, it's no where near "post" condition but i threw it up to see what kind of direction he was looking for....check out the remix i did for billy bo on his thread that track is mixed

Let me know what I can do too.

Yo Dease spend a couple minutes mixing that beat, I wanna know how it sounds with some polish

Yeah that sounds better. But I think the vocal sample sounds like it's abruptly cut off...

thats the only way i can have that change up cuz it's no where else in that song but with some vocals and some modification it won't be noticeable
