I don't know how many of you use Cakewalk or Sonor for live performance. I have a duo and we use midi tracks as our backgrounds. I have been using Cakewalk to do this for many years (back to the original DOS version 1) and find that generally it works very well. I have Sonor 3 on my notebooks ( Dell 600m 1.6 ghz with 512 ram and Dell 1200 Inspirion 1.4 ghz with 256 ram both using Windows XP). I was using a stand alone Roland Sound Canvas for my midi files but about a year ago I began using the Roland/Edirol VSC (Virtual Sound Canvas). The sound is decent but I am having a problem that seems to be related to the VSC more so than Sonor (I think). I am using the Cakewalk Jukebox feature to create and play sets live. Every once in awhile the instrument sounds "stumble". The midi files stay on in the correct tempo but the midi sounds drop out of time for a second or two. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I went into the VSC set up page and lowered the polyphony setting as well as the CPU load limit and set the sampling rate to 22,000. It still does it. Any ideas?? I appreciate any thoughts you my have.

Have you cleaned up your computer lately?

Added any programs or have something running in the background/

VSC is pretty easy on resources,I would think decreasing polyphony would lead to sound dropouts.
