Ok! For those of you who know what I am talking about just looking at the title of this thread, you know what kind of hell I am in...
Does anyone possibly know what needs to be done to get sound out of the studio monitors that are plugged into the Tascam us-144 with RCA cable, Tascam Us-144 is plugged with a USB into HP laptop with Windows 7, running Cakewalk Sonar 7 Producer Edition. I have been through multiple settings wasting multiple hours on trying to get the sound to work with Sonar 7. Oddly I have tested my Tascam and studio monitors with other programs such as the freebie mixer "Kristal" and it works FINE! I'd like to run my professional program Sonar though with these monitors! You'd think that hundreds of dollars software would be able to run through an audio interface that a freebie software could! Not sure what the heck my headache is... HELP!!!:confused::confused:

Thanks..
TJ

You may have tried these but here are the first things I would check.

Go to the Options menu, go to the audio section. Click the driver tab. Make sure the output you have connected to the tascam is highlighted. Meaning that Sonar will use that device.

In the project you are trying to listen to go to the mixer view. (shortcut key alt-3).
There should be 3 sections. The Track section, Bus section and I believe it's titled the Master section. (I'm not currently in front of Sonar)

Make sure each individual track is routed to the same bus for now. In default Sonar files that bus will be titled "Master". Make sure the output of that bus titled "master" is routing out the proper output that is connected to your Tascam.

In the mains section of the track view you should see the meter for that device moving.

If those things are happening then it's a connection issue between the computer and Tascam.

Hope that helps
