Newbie here. Having trouble getting the Cakewalk Music Creator 3 to "see" my keyboard. I keep getting this message that I have not chosen any MIDI output. Well, the keyboard is not listed to choose it. So I cannot record anything. Anybody had this problem or know how to solve it?

Are you trying to record midi into the computer, or trying to get the computer to play the keyboard? It makes a difference.

If it tells you you have not chosen a midi output, then it sounds like you are trying to play back midi you recorded into the computer. In that case, either connect the midi in of the keyboard to the midi out of your computer interface, or you need to open a softsynth on an audio track, and assign the midi output to the softsynth.

If on the other hand you are trying to record midi into the computer, you may simply need to set up a midi track, select midi omni as the input source, and arm for recording. It's also unfortunately possible that My advice is completely off track, because I use Sonar 4 not Music Creator 3. Sorry. :o

Also, I'm not exactly a midi expert either. :p

Its looking for the MIDI port you've connected your keyboard to; it won't show your keyboard, just a list of interfaces.
