Cakes customer support has changed to all email now. No more phone support. What has been your experience with their new system? I've sent three emails to customer support and nothing. Their phone support was very good when they were doing that. Whats been you alls experience with the email support? (not to be confused with athletic support).

I think I just bought my last upgrade (7.02 Pro). I read that Roland is buying them up. If this merger goes like M-Audio did when Avid ran them over, I'll be moving on.

To the point, yes...I've had similar support issues. The email support is very poor lately. I don't anticipate it getting any better.

Phone-support is a thing of the past for many companies. You've heard of the operator from India? It's true, corporations are cutting back wherever possible and there's not a greater expense than personnel. I hadn't heard about the Roland deal, but they're a solid company without a software leg, makes sense to me. As for Cakewalk, well, I wonder if PC recording has "jumped the shark" with the introduction of Vista.

I'm certain their sales reps would get right with you when you expose the plastic. That won't change.

I am thiinking of doing whole new system. With what you said in mind about Vista and Window PC's future, should I start thinking Mac and there for pro tools? Or Mac and stick with Sonar which I believe is compatible?
