I just recently purchased a digitech rp300 multi effects pedal for my guitar. I'm starting to really like some of the tones that I can make with it, and I want to redo some of my old tracks. Now, being the lazy guy I am, I would really like do do some direct recording.

So I plug the left and right outs of the pedal into the line in on my Mackie 1202 and then the tape outs of the mackie into my audiophile 24/96.... Then I'm using Sonar 2.0 X.L. to record my audio. The problem is all of a sudden sonar won't record anything. I'll arm the track but it picks up nothing. The sound will come out of my speakers but not into sonar.

I know it's probably a software issue, so if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks

And you're sure that the Tape Outs on the Mackie works?

And you have setup Sonar right? With the right settings in the Delta Control Panel?

Have you been able to record before with this setup and the same signal path?

Ya. the tape outs do work. I've done lots of recording in the past with this setup. The audio is going into the computer... it comes out the speakers, but for some reason sonar can't detect it.

And the speakers is connected to the PC and not the mixer?

Are you recording to an audiotrack, not a MIDI-track?
Have you armed the audio-track?

Have you tried bypassing the mixer ? (RP300 --> PC) ? Everything should be just fine if you didn't forget (or accidentally) change SONAR's audio setting. Please reffer to Options --> Audio, and make sure you select the input device propherly. If this doesn't help, we're gonna need your SONAR's setting explained as shown in your monitor :)

Ya, it's an audio track and it's armed. It's defantley something to do with the settings. I've used Sonar with this card for half a year now and it only stopped working for me recently.

In cool edit pro and in n-tracks it will record audio, and in the card's software mixer the h/w 1/2 ins meter are recevieving input.

In SONAR, did you see anything on track's recording meter while you record the track ?

You mentioned "redo some of my old track"... did you make the project with exactly same setup ? Just curious, your "old track" probably saved the old information of your previous used setup (eg. you got new sound card, etc...). What if you try new project ?
