I'm having trouble recording to Cakewalk 9 from the analog line in port on my Soundblaster Live card. I can get audio to record (very loud and distorted obviously) when I plug into the mic port so I know my soundcard is working properly.

How do I setup Cakewalk 9 to record audio from the analog in on my soundcard?

Make sure you're going into the line input and not the mic input and then in the windows mixer make sure that the line input is selected as the recording source input. Then in Cakewalk make sure you select the soundcard as the source.

Also, in addition to what Track Rat said, in order to use the Line In port on a sound card you need to feed it a "line level" signal. In other words, you can not feed a microphone directly into the Line In port. The signal needs to be amplified through a pre-amp first.
