You're making me hungry for fish.... :D

Coool tune. No real nits...I like the sparseness of it. I thas a sort of live feel to it, like everything is happening at once. That's cool with this.

Cool article Ray - those table legs are almost 90 years old!!!

The picture beside the song in Soundclick is cool.

Never had a rissole but they sound alright from the recipe I googled.

Enjoyed listening to this tune again......

:) :D :) :D

I think the winner [for the oldest restaurant in Sydney] could either be Harry's Café Del Wheels (the cart has been there since 1945) or the Oceanic Café at 312 Elizabeth Street, in the city. The owners of the Oceanic Café claim it has always been a café. The tables tops are [from] the 1950s, but they're superimposed on 1920-30s legs."

Yah...I like the pic you have at soundclick. It is an excellent storytelling song and a fine job was done in telling it !! :D

*I was going to use the term awesome, but didn't want to start a row.* :D

Acoustic and vox mix sound good.
The flute is great, I say raise it in volume a bit more at times. As long as you seperate it enough from vox with panning/EQ sounds like it could be cool to be more involved.
Bass sounds real good on my system.
Not much to pick on here, cool song and article ;)

Dude, this song is really cool. :) That's all I'll say. :)

And nice reference on the history. Wow, just wow on that. Just think how many people have gone thru those doors.

I like the story telling ...acoustic guitar seem just a tad extreme in the high end imho....vocals sound very nice..I like the fat bass tone around 1:50...

Thanks & de essed

Hi Folks,
I thought some of you might get a lick out of reading about the real place. It's just up from where Terry works & from my trade union's HQ.
Haven't done much apart from applying a plugin de esser to the vocals. Hope it made some diff. Had to take things quietly of late as the cheeze & kisses* is an ill octopus** at present.
Here's the link to the de essed version.

Dogman,
Would that be dof fish you hunger for? thanks for your observations & kind words.
ido1957/Gerry,
Rissoles are a great Australian tradition called what to do with the mince left over from the batch we bought to make spaghetti bog? There are two defined schools re rissoles - those that dust them in flour & those that don't. I was brought up undusted but Kim was the other way.
true-eurt,
Terry took the snap after working late one evening. It's a good story. He has a wad of lyrics about the riverboats that used to ply the back waters etc too but I can't do them justice musically.
SnakeDog5050,
I'm waiting on Terry to supply a defiinite flute line. he's not happy with this sketch but he's moving house this week - him, the mussus & 2 squids are going even further bush. Thanks for your kind words.
bigbubba,
It's a pretty old part of Sydney & only inches from where the biggest brewery in tha state used to be - it was lucky not to be "developed" when the brewery finally came down. thanks for the generous appraisal.
variaxman,
I'm working on the guitar tone - it's the result of some pass filters I had to sue to remove unwanted bass. I'll get there with encouragement such as you've offered - thanks.

That is true True - just give Ray a bit of time and he'll come up with some excellent chords/melodies for Terry's lyrics.... :D

Hey me again ray...again im hearing a mixture of early floyd/harper influences on this track with the chords and effects..are they an influence (as if floyd woundnt be) ..lol...yes again it still has that original feel and I like the soft flute behind iit too...again mix wise cant fault it...lyric wise..I believe anyone can write about anything and make it good...you have done that with this...it just goes to show that it doesnt have to be intricate lyrics to try and capture an audience..its been proved in history all the best songs were pretty much simple stuff wrote with a catchy tune..(kinks spring to mind)..so again I give you the rascilly rate....good stuff m8
