Good day. If this has been asked before, I apologize; however, it did not show up on a search.

Our local music store (Eastern Canada) has the CAD M9 cardioid tube condenser microphone, regular $375, on sale for $249. This includes the power supply, road case, shock mount etc.

Is this a good deal? The context is this: I have a Tascam 2488 MkII which I am using to record my own songs. No special room, just my ex-dining room and a living room. I already have an old AKG D330BT and an SM57. The literature on the M9 leads me to believe this would be a good mic for acoustic instruments and also for vocals.

Anyone have any experience/comments/suggestions re. my purchasing this microphone?

Thanks muchly.

It usually goes for 299 American soooooooooo, yeah, good deal!
It is a nice mic at that price and has a good reputation.
It does, however, do better in a treated room. It picks up a lot of noise, very sensitive.
coupla blankets on a rod might do the trick but if there's a lot of outside noise getting in (cars, dogs, birds etc.) it will pick it up..
