Anyone have any comments or experience good/bad on the CAD E100 mic? Would be used for vocals only.

I've had no experience with any CAD microphone, but it looks decent enough to record vocals with as compared to an AKG C1000 that I used to record everything on my band's first album when I was just starting out.

I have the Cad. It is really a good mic for the money. I heard an incredible vocal that some guy cut (chick singer). I dont know what preamps he used but he cut it in his bedroom and the Cad 100 did a great job.
i have had some good results with it too, but not as good as the one I heard from this guy at sam ash.
get it,,

There must me some distinct advantage when cutting a great tune in the bedroom.

I have one that I used pretty much exclusively in the recording of my CD "Cut & Clarity". With the exception of kick drum on two tracks, everything else was recorded with the E100.

You can hear it here:

I have to say that I was only using the mixing console's mic pres, and the compressor I was using at the time was not the best, but it should at least give you an idea of the sound of the mic.

For the money, I'd say it's a good, versitile mic.
