Cable Stuck!!!

I was messing around with some cables after hearing about unbalanced and balanced lines and so forth. I plugged 2 1/4 cables into my firebox XLR/1/4 plugs. When I went to pull them out I couldn't. After tugging for a while I managed to get one out. There's still one cable in the firebox and I can't get it out! I don't know what to do!

Another time I was unplugging a cable from my firebox and the tip didn't come with the cable so it was stuck in the firebox. I almost had a heart attack but I but the cable back in and managed to pull the tip and cable out.

Anyway, any suggestions on what to do. I could take the firebox apart but that's probably not a good idea. I'm gonna let my hand rest from trying to grip the cable.

While I have this topic, I might as well ask a question about balanced and unbalanced cabling. I have a RCA output on my amp. I use a RCA to XLR cable but I'm getting this bad very high pitched noise. The firebox has 2 TS channels in the front and 2 TRS/TS channels in the back. I was thinking a RCA to 1/4 would remove this buzz, or a dual RCA to single XLR because there are 2 RCA outs. What would be the best method with this whole balanced and unbalanced deal?

Thanks!

RCA to 1/4 won't make any difference. They're both simply 2 conductor connectors.

And RCA on your amp outputs? What kind of amp and what are you running it into. Typically you don't use XLR on the outputs of an amp ...... XLR's are usually the inputs. The outputs will almost always be 1/4" phone .... bannana plugs or clips.
And if you're running the outputs of an amp into the Firebox that's pretty much wrong.
So .......... a little more info please.

I have noticed TS and TRS cables can get stuck when the connector gets a little loose- if you can spin the tip conductor with your finger and thumb, something's not right, and it can get stuck.

Either that, or the female jack is just too happy to let go...

Well I got the cable out by prying it with a screw driver. I can't believe how hard it was in!

Anyway, my amp is a Line 6 Spider Jam. It has a "high quality" left and right RCA output for recording purposes (I use it like a preamp). Now what's weird is I can get this very high pitched sound to disappear when I use a amp cab impulse modulator with a VST, so somehow that is cleaning up the signal.

Another thing is I get this sound when the amp is off too!? I'm going to try going direct into the firebox. I have the cable RCA to XLR cable going into a ART T8 (Amazon.com: ART T8 8-Channel Transformer Isolator: Musical Instruments) and that has helped a lot. But if I bypass this, that high pitched noise goes away. So I guess that is my problem, is that T8 so I'll just bypass it. I have no idea why this noise occurs with the cable running through the T8!

Monster cable? They'll give you the shaft (..err can be oversized apparently.
