Cab for JCM800, 2x12 or 4x12

I'd go for the 4x12 if I was you. I'd also suggest buying a used Marshall 1960A (slant) instead of a cheaper knockoff. You can find used 1960A's for around $350, and you'll never regret passing over the less-expensive cabs.

Nothing sounds like a Marshall 4x12 except a Marshall 4x12.

I've got a couple of the Avatar cabs...a 4x12 closed with VIN30's and a 2x12 with one VIN30 and one G12H30...I actually prefer the mixed 2x12 for studio work. The mixed speakers really round out the sound and when you fiddle with the EQ on the head(s), the bass really comes out. I use the 4x12 when it needs to be "tear your head off" loud.

Thanks! Bought it new in the early '90's. The top is a 50w super lead.
