Anybody can tell me where ?

Here in Italy there is one importer (thanx Alan for the advice), but unfortunately they sell it for 340$ !!!!!!!

Way too much compared to the price tag it has in USA...

Anyone bought one of these in EU ??

Any help would be nice....

Same here in France...

Alan gave me a link to one importer here in Paris...I don't remember the prices, but they were high enough to make me lose interest in the whole Studio Projects line...

Exactly... at those prices StudioProjects will never be competitive here...

What a pity though...

That's where having realtives in the states come in handy. An aunt of mine is comming to Romania in February and she'll bring me the C1, the VT-1 and probably the Delta 1010LT (I'll have to think about that). All this in Romania would have probably cost me double.

And if it breaks you have to send it back to US.... Convenient ?

I hope it won't

If any of them breaks I'll go back with them myself (haven't seen the States lately)! lol
Seriously now, I really hope that nothing like that happens. If prices in the Euro zone are 50% higher in Romania they are 100% higher (if you even find what you are looking for), so I don't really have a choice.

I just hope for the best!

Hope everything goes fine !!

But I just don't understand why we in Europe are so disorganized as for music gear.......

Hi there! I was interested in this, too, since I am living in Germany. I called the german company who distributes Studio Projects stuff around here. They said I could order the C1 in any store in Germany and the price would be around 700 DM, which means about 350 US$ !!! After reading all the comments on this board I'm sure the mic is worth this money, but I don't understand why it's that expensive here compared to the US. I never really actually asked in a store here, maybe I should, because most of the dealers tell you "well, the listprice of this item is ... (insert ridiculously high amount of money), but I can sell it for ... (insert a lower amount of money". But I don't have the money in the moment anyway, so I just have to wait. An Alternative might be ordering from a shop in the US. There are not many, who do this, but this one for example

http://www.macmidimusic.com/

does, and they sell the C1 for 229$; maybe you want to check that one out.

...but remember you'd still have to pay your country's sales taxes when importing from a non-EU country. The best way is to get someone in the States to order it for you and send it labeled as a private gift.

Maybe some trustworthy US citizen on this board could be talked into doing such a thing?

Of course, there is still the backside to it that Jumpingflash points out - it's a lot more trouble if it breaks and you have to send it back. The one who orders your piece of gear should be able to test it before passing it on to you.

Cheers

So i would ask Alan Hyatt to do it for me....

What do you think of it Alan ?

:D

That would get me into trouble. All I can say is I give all my distributors a great deal. Much better than the US dealers get. Of course they have to pay freight, duty, taxes, deliveries, and do the service.

They are entitled to a profit, but I have no control over how they do it. All I can say is to call them up and really try to get yourself a decent deal.

If you buy in the states, it is about $230.00. Shipping is like $70.00, and then you have to pay the duty and tax, so this can be about $340.00 US, unless you can find someone to bring it to you.

So if you could buy one for about 10 to 15% of that, you are doing well. I just can't step over my distributors and sell there from here, but I can ask you to keep trying and call these distributors and ask them to help you.

There is no distributor in Mexico, so we can sell there.

Alan-
May be not the right place to ask, but how do I get a dealership for your stuff? We have a storefront at our studio and are a dealer for several things (Yorkville, Earthworks, Kaman, Groove Tubes, etc.). Just wondering what we have to do to get a dealership here in KY. I notice there's not another in our state.

Thanks

Hey, Alan

You mean you CAN sell to Mexico?

Meaning you can send it as a "personal gift" That would be GREAT! I want a C1! (and a b1 too)

We can sell there, but it wont be free! My name is Alan, not Santa...:D

flapo,
does this mean that sending sth that is declared as "personal gift" will pass the pinche aduana without trouble (and *not* paying these ridiculous 50% taxes)?
Harald
who just spent 120 dollar today on 2 f***ing K+M stands

OT: do you know if it is possible to send used gear to mexico(legally)?

Oh, Allan... I was hoping you american guys would help developing nations like Mexico ;) Just joking. Of course I would pay (happily) for those mikes, but I do think that I would save a lot of taxes if you register them as gifts when sending them via UPS or whatever.

Harald:
Let me ask some amigos down here that work in the traffic dept. of the company I work in and can tell me for sure.
Que bueno que hay otro Mexicano aquí. Yo vivo en Aguascalientes. Saludos a Monterrey!
Translation: :) It's a disrespect to speak in other languages isn't it?
Good there are other mexican guys in the forum. I live in Aguascalientes, greetings to Monterrey

BTW Where do you buy your stuff? I'm looking for a Delta 44, 66 or 1010

flapo,
i am german, but live in MTY. I buy a lot of used gear, and each time i go on vacation to europe i bring sth with me (you can bring whatever you want with a value of up to 300USD if you enter the land by plane, family members can sum up), and when the family comes over here to visit they also bring me equpment. But it is dificult, still. I know that "backstage" (hermes music in mexico) carries the delta line, but i don't know the prices (i have a st dsp2000 from germany)
saludos
harald

Harald:

There's a similar thing in Mexico, when you enter Mexico by ground you can carry up to USD $300 with you in goods, and I have the idea that there's a similar sum when you get things by mail, but I can't remember it right now. All I remember is that when I bought my (used) Portastudio about 4 years ago, it costed me about USD$150 and I had to pay about $75 in taxes (about 35% import tax and 15% I.V.A.).

Alan:

So what do you think about the "gift" issue? Of course I would pay for the microphones, the only difference is that you would ship it as a "gift" or with a simbolic price so the Mexican goverment doesn't earns more than you do! :p
