I have small hands compared to most, and I hate flat radiused necks with wide nuts.
I am thinking of getting a nice birdseye maple strat neck done with a small nut width, but with a U profile.

anyone have anything like this?

There is another neck shape to consider, the D neck. It's good for players with smaller hands. The best way I can describe it is similar to a U neck but not as thick. I have somewhat small squareish hands and a U neck feels a little bulky to me. Play several different neck styles and find what feels most "natural" and comfortable to you.

What are you playing now, and what kind of music are you playing? Have you ever spent any extended time playing a regular Strat neck?

If you haven't given a standard Strat neck a good workout, it might be a good idea. One of my playing buddies has really small hands and loves his.

A neck that is too small can cause some people's hands to cramp. The smaller radius on a Strat neck will increase your comfort more than the reduction in width at the nut. The narrower fretboards are harder to resell.

small neck

i have a martin e-18 solid body electric ....... the neck is way too small for my hands ...... after a few mins i start to cramp up ..... and making complex chords is never going to happen on that neck ........ be sure you are comfortable w/ your neck choice before you buy it .......
