Buzzing

So my electric tends to get that new string buzz when i dig into my strings unplugged. Could this be causing the extraneous noise I hear from my amp? I take it the buzz is detrimental, but is it common for electrics to be more nois?y

yeah, its pretty common to get fret buzz out of electrics. If its a serious problem (reducing sustain and such) you can raise the action. It shouldn't be too noticable coming through the amp.
