Hello everybody! This is my first time posting . I have an annoying buzzing noise through my monitors. I just got my project studio done and I wired the electrical outlets myself with the help of an
electrical co. who upgraded my main ckt. panel. As far as my outlet
tester is telling me is that I have done it correctly, but no matter
what bal/unbal. cable I used from mixer out to amp-- the buzz is still there. The amp I am using is just an older type home receiver-sae is the brand name, but then I tried to hook it up directly to my
jbl pwr 15 speakers and it still there.I also use a furman pwr conditioner which doesn't seem to help-so now I really do need all the help I can get.Any would be greatly appreciated.

Speaker buzz can sometimes be caused by a weak signal. I had a similar problem with speaker buzz. I started using pre-amps and that solved 99% of my problem.

Thanks mrbigputts. I am using a mackie 1642 mixer. What do you mean when you say, pre-amp? is it an outboard pre-amp, or the one that comes with the mixer?

this could help.

hello!

i'm a newbie too! this sit is cool isn't it? any way you say that you have a buzzing noise in your monitors?

here are some things that i would do....

1. do you have fluorescent lights in your studio?
because if you have fluorescent lights in your studio the can
trigger buzz.

2. some cable testers can give bad or unreal readings about your cables. try using new cables. you know the old saying...
"good cables don't last forever"

3.get a "hum stoper" alot of music stores and music catalogs have them for a good price.

good luck!

p.s. if you have any good drum recording tips i would sure love to hear them.!
