Hi!

I'm gonna start gettin a piano lesson and I was thinkin of gettin it on keyboard.

However, I have no keyboard so I hav to buy one.

When buyin, I want to get somethin that I can learn on and use it for home recording later on.

I have M-Audio Oxygen 61 USB MIDI Keyboard Controller, Yamaha PSRE213 61-Key General MIDI Keyboard, Edirol PC-80 61-Key USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller,Edirol PCR-500 49-Key USB/MIDI Keyboard Controller.

As you see, my budget isn't that wide. mayb under 300.

thanks a lot

Under $300 for weighted piano action and 88 keys? Close to a real piano feel would be best for learning to play. I've never played this, but Yamaha actually has one just around $300 - The Yamaha NP-30. Graded Touch keybed (similar to what you'd find in a real acoustic piano), but I'm guessing it's not as good as their higher models with that they call "graded hammer" action. Haven't played one, but I'm guessing it's not quite the same.

Probably hard to get something that is truely suited for learning good piano technique in your budget unless you hit eBay. Not saying it's impossible, I just haven't seen anything in your price range.

Thanks for advices.

I stretched my budget a little and lookin forward to buyin Yamaha P70 Digital Piano.

What do u guyz think?

Thanks

check out casio privia. to my hands they feel more real than a p70 and are cheaper.

Yeah. I play really heavy style like ben folds and it seemed to hold up pretty well. I don't have any long term experience with them. Just used one that one of my co-writers had at their place over a weekend.

Good keybed, good enough sounds. I just used it for midi and ran my reason piano samples. Worth checking out. Don't pass up on it just because it says casio!

I've never played the Casio Privia's, but have read quite a bit of good about them. I wasn't wild about the audio samples I found on the Web, but you really need to listen in person for the best opinion.

If you plan on using the new keyboard for recording, keep in mind the P70 does not have audio outputs - only an 1/8" headphone jack that I'm aware of. Does have midi though.

I just got a Privia px 200 "blem" from MF for very cheap for my little sister, though it hasn't arrieved. I think any of the good Casios or Yamahas are great for a student. You want fully weighted action, though.
