Busted!

All my wife ever got me was a November '67 Ric 366/12.

But now we're divorced...and I have fewer guits than I've owned in 20 years. Go figure.

It seems like I still get more gear all the time, but now I do a lot more trading. I just acquired a Fender Classic '50s P this year in trade for a couple of mutt basses and an Epiphone Biscuit, and a Korg D888 in exchange for an old pedal steel, a guitar amp and a bass.

I made a list of my axes over the years, 28 total. That's twice as many cars as I've owned!

And I'm down to four amps. Wish I could lose weight as easy as I get rid of gear.

I'm pretty lucky I guess. My wife likes to buy me guitars and surprise me with them. I think I'll keep her.:D

are you all pussy-whipped bitches here or what? do you all really have to consult your GF/wife if you want to buy more music gear?

If you work, pay your bills and want to buy some music gear with your own money then you should do it.

That's what I do.

Unfortunately, there are many women who don't think there is such a thing as "your own money".

My wife hasn't bought me any guitars but she doesn't mind one bit when I bring a new one home because I save up all the money that I would of otherwise spent on boozing and drugs etc.....if I was a boozer and drugger! :D

My wife doesn't mind, although she sometimes pretends to for dramatic effect. She and the girls treat themselves constantly to clothes, pedicures, manicures, all that stuff, so in the long term they're blowing through more money than I am. I just end up having really neat stuff to show for it. :D

I use U.S. Savings Bonds as cookie jar money. Whenever I accumulate enough of 'em that they're burning a hole in my pocket I go and buy something. That way it's all "off the books." ;)
