Hey all,

I've got a question. I'm using Acid 4.0 and I want to have all tracks but my vocals be effected by reverb. By using busses can I "route" all my tracks (minus vocal) to a bus with reverb and leave the vocal dry?? If so. How do I do this?? I've tried inserting a bus and effecting it and then I thought I routed all desired tracks to that bus. Maybe I dont understand this at all.....

I would just use the sends to send in parallel the tracks you wanted to get reverb on them...if you send to a buss, you are sending 100 %, though the fx on that buss usually do have mixc controls, but SOP is to use parallel sends to do it

pipeline's right on:

to elaborate further...

in most sytems they are called aux sends and are selectable as pre-fader or post-fader. USUALLY with effects like reverb, you use post-fader sends. That way if you slide the fader down to soften the track, the reverb being triggered from that track will also get proportionally softer.

In your software mixer, you then set up an aux return whose input is the aux send that you are using for reverb. You place a reverb plug-in on the aux return, and set it for 100% wet (very important: if not, you will get a "phasey" sound.)

Now you can control the amount of reverberated signal vs. the original dry signal by either changing the level of the aux send on the dry track, or changing the fader level on the aux return.

don'cha think we make a good team: "pipe 'n dog" ? :D

hell yeah! now if you could come out here and pimp my studio and chase bands down we could get ourselves a few 8078's
