BUS or SEND for drums....

I don't think so. How do you hear other instruments when you solo something?

There's also an option in Reaper for 'solo in front'. This solos your track of interest without totally muting the other tracks. This gives you context which is handy sometimes. It's in the option menu.

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between doing this and using FOLDERS? For my guitars, vocals, overheads, etc....I've always grouped them by making a master folder for guitar, vocals, overheads, etc....

Anyone do this?

I am a compulsive folder user: kit, vocals etc. I find then handy when, for example, someone wants to do multiple takes of a lead vocal. I have all the FX set up in the top level, then keep adding other tracks underneath.

Yes, I've been using folders all along. I don't know why I didn't think of using it for drums. I think it might be because I have my overheads in a folder, so my brain probably didn't compute the possibility of putting a folder in another folder.

I like that option better. Greg's suggestion of un-clicking the "master/parent send" works, too. The only thing about that is that I'm used to putting the MIX control in my reverb all the way too WET always. With the un-clicking "master/parent send" method, I think I'd have to put the MIX at 50/50. I might be wrong about that though, because I didn't try it yet.

I set up a separate reverb track, and do as you do: have the reverb on 100% wet. I then send to that from the top level folder.

Having said that, I sometime send to reverb from a lower level. For example, with a kit, I sometimes send the snare to reverb, but not the kick, whereas both (plus the other drum tracks) are all within a folder called 'kit'.
