Also i heard that if you are burning CDs you should burn at real time speed (x1) as the slower you burn it the more chance of it working on all CD players.
Thats just what i heard so it might be rubbish!

this might be true for really old cd burners.

wow

it took me about 3 minutes of my life to read through all the posts on this thread.............................and I'll never get those 3 minutes back.

WRONG!

You'll get your 3 minutes back when you start burning at higher speeds than 1x.

I smell something strange. You did say to microwave my foil hat 4x @3 minutes,...right?

he'll get more than 3 minutes back....he'll get an hour...now thats more than enough time to scratch himself and change positions on the couch

But...............

I used to use Reynolds Wrap to make my aluminum foil hats. My hats always had a couple of hanger wires coming out the cone shaped top. After burning at 3.37x speed for years, I noticed the hanger wires were actually helping with the quality of the burn. Back then I used to face southwest with one wire pointing due North at 73.2 degrees and the other at the ground(you have to ground everything) and I noticed if I sang "You light up Life" by Debbie Boone in falsetto that the speed of the burn increased to 3.38x. I know this actually happened, because I timed it.........three times. But I spent over 3 bucks each on the "New" silver CDRs that were supposed to be basically bulletproof, but they aren't because I shot one with a .22 caliber from 40 feet away and it made another hole near in the center. Now I know what your thinking............I was wearing rubber soled shoes, so don't be commenting on how I became more of a conductor than an insulator when grounded to my friggin aluminum cone hat.
geez you guys piss me off with your enuindos

Thank you for sharing your experiences. With more well-documented research of this kind we will soon zero in on the perfect CD.
